Choosing a Beach House in Myrtle Beach
The city of Myrtle Beach is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the eastern seaboard. Incorporated in 1957, our city has seen more renovation in the last five years than ever before.
During the real estate boom in 2005, condos and houses in Myrtle Beach were built and remodeled city-wide, and much of the less attractive buildings were removed. This gave the city a new shine, along with the expanded convention center, the Hard Rock Park (which later went under) and the advent of the old Pavilion being torn down. Plans are underway to replace the Pavilian with parks, condos, shopping complexes, and a brand new boardwalk in 2010.

The population in Myrtle Beach is said to have increased nearly 40% in the last 10 years, and more retirees than ever before are choosing to move here for our more temporate climate, mild winters, and big-city amenities with a small-town atmosphere.
Although condos rule the real estate market, single family homes, gated communities, golf course homes, and Myrtle Beach beach houses are still very much available for those that want a yard and more privacy.
